Do something for me. Grab a pen and a piece of paper. Now, on that paper, write down how much money you’d like to make weekly, monthly or even annually.
Go ahead, I’ll wait while you figure it out…
Finished? Great!
How much did you write down?
Did you know that, that exact figure represents how much you value yourself, your time and what you consider yourself to be worth, financially-speaking?
Of course you may say, “C’mon Christina. I know I’m worth a lot more than that. This is just what I realistically think I can make given my current circumstances.”
Well okay. I feel you…To an extent. You’re right– You are worth more than whatever number is on that piece of paper. We all are. There really is no “price tag” we can place on ourselves. However, what people don’t understand is: what and where we are is a direct result of how and what we think.
In other words, if a person has a pennies-a-day mindset and they are offered a million dollar opportunity, that person will take that opportunity and only make a few pennies a day. Until people see themselves making a multiple six and even seven-figure income, they won’t. Period.
Again, we are all priceless. This is not a determination of the content of someone’s character. I know many admirable people, regardless of their financial wherewithal.
The figure on that paper is only about how someone perceives him/herself in terms of money… This type of self worth is directly linked to what an indivivual is willing to settle for. Until someone is prepared to raise the bar for what they are willing to settle for, they will only receive what they think they are worth.
The good news?
You can go back, rip up that peice of paper and get a fresh sheet. Now, I am asking you again: how much money would you like to make weekly, monthly or even annually?
Raise the bar right now.
Design the lifestyle you desire. Only you can.
